Training Details

Obstacle Course Racing (O.C.R.) is an increasingly popular sport which involves total body and mind activity. Total fitness is required, cardiovascular fitness, strength, agility, flexibility, specific techniques to conquer tough obstacles, a dose of adaptability and mental attributes too. Courses are generally set to challenge you in every way, (almost) to breaking point at times…..

During Fit For Anything's obstacle-run training sessions you can expect an approach suited to the needs, wants and ability of the individual participants. Training to improve total ability, ones form and so on in order to reduce the body’s imbalances which in turn reduces the risk to injury. All of this will ultimately boost total fitness and performance. Team FFA will share health and fitness knowledge, guide, coach each other and can help you with other common things such as motivation, accountability, training programs, periodisation and nutrition. The “How to Obstacle-run” (H2O) training sessions can be combined with an “improve running performance” session so running drills can be incorporated within obstacle training, even small and timed race scenario’s can be included within a session. Fit For Anything will pass on their own advanced Obstacle Course Race experience and provide the extra relevant training content, knowledge and guidance.

Obstacle Training Locations:

1) “How to Obstacle-run” (H2O) group sessions at Merchant Tailors' School run from April to end of October and are mainly aimed at beginner to intermediate level, but sessions can be tailored to all levels. It is for people who would like to gain more confidence, knowledge and generally become fitter and better at doing obstacle course running.

2) Individual and small group sessions aimed at intermediate to advanced level are better suited at The Farm in Elstree. This facility is also great for outdoor boot-camp style training. Group circuit-style training is available on request for groups of 6 and over.

3) From November to end of March there are FREE* “How to Obstacle-run” (H2O) “improve running performance” group training sessions held during each weekend - mostly Saturdays, sometimes Sundays from 3-4pm - which are held at Whippendell Woods towards Chandler’s Cross (edge of Cassiobury Park - Watford). Cross Country style running often combined with obstacle, circuit style training with varying drills. Meet at the 2nd car park on Rousebarn Lane which Lane is located opposite Prime Steak and Grill in Chandler’s Cross. Text Roel to confirm attendance!
