March 2021

Are you still hibernating? Stay strong, fit and healthy!
As we move out of a difficult winter, and more positively into warmer weather and less restrictions, there is now a plan in place to put us on the road to some form of normality.
But what is your plan to get your fitness and goals back on track?
As ever, Fit For Anything (FFA) is here to support you.

Spring is definitely in the air and FFA is ready to help put a spring back in your step with these 5 TopTips to help you come out of hibernation.
I have also included a blog from our new partners at The Osteopathic House (more on this later) on why building muscle is not just about appearance. Muscle protect joints, ligaments and your muscle strength and endurance will indirectly assist you to take care of your total wellbeing.

We are seeing positive signs that we are slowly moving out of the pandemic situation in The United Kingdom. It is your choice to decide to get yourself ready for some kind of normality, and the best way to start is by ensuring your immune system is optimised. This way you can also assist and show others that as a society we can restore balance which leads to having the confidence to lead a close to normal life. Society needs you desperately!

Besides getting your dose of vitamin D (preferably from the sun), vitamin C and Zinc, stay active, keep moving and stay healthy: Try to (slowly) get ready to get back to a more normal activity level. Research shows that most people have a lack of daily structure, people are doing 20% less activity and have a worse diet than a year ago, which causes (mental and/or physical) downturn, fatigue, weight gain and some loss of health and fitness. Get ready to re-balance your mind and body, improve your total well-being. Please see a basic guide on what to eat and drink to boost your immune system below.

Instagram and Fit For Anything

The Instagram account fit.for.anything has been added as a business Instagram account.

The business account has been created to assist people to be(come) the best they can be in order to be(come) Fit For Anything.

Posts will contain relevant health and fitness information and include video content on the how and the why we should move and perform certain activities. Apply the basics and develop from there. The coming 2 months there will be posts containing a "Basics series" illustrating for example the effects of (prolonged) sitting, standing, lying and many other basic topics will follow. An "Intermediate series" is likely to unfold after the Basics series. This business account will aim to contain a small library of decent health and fitness information for viewers to assist with various, mainly physical issues.

The Instagram account rj_fitforanything remains but is going to be a more personal Instagram account in future.

It has been exactly a year ago since I started helping out the local community during these uncertain times - finding ways to be a support through GoodSAM and Royal Voluntary Service, Chorleywood Corona Support Group, Rickmansworth Coronavirus Community Help Group and various Whats App groups.

It is mainly prescription running that I do for Ricky Covid Mutual Aid which means I collect prescriptions from local chemists such as Delite and Tudor and deliver these prescriptions to vulnerable people in the area. A prescription run shift contains of 2 hours and I usually do 2 shifts a week. I often take it literally and run (or cycle) from my house to a chemist, then to various addresses to drop off prescriptions and run back home. A shift usually mounts up to a satisfying trip of almost 12km. I will continue to support who need it the most during these uncertain times.

As ever, I look forward to continuing to work with you to keep you on track to achieve your goals.
You can be(come) Fit For Anything!
Roel
